Mike Portnoy Sakit Hati Dream Theater Masuk Grammy

Meski Grammy Awards sudah lewat namun menyimpan rasa kecewa yang dalam bagi drumer super, Mike Portnoy. Dia merasa jika nominasi yang ditujukan kepada mantan bandnya Dream Theater telah melukai perasaanya.

Saat berbicara dalam sebuah wawancara radio New York, WBAB baru-baru ini, Mike mengatakan jika dia merasa sakit hati ketika mendengar kabar Dream Theater dinominasikan. Pasalnya nominasi yang ia tunggu sepanjang karirnya ini muncul setelah setahun ia meninggalkan band ini.

"Dalam pribadi saya, hal ini sangat menghancurkan hatiku. Namun dalam posisi profesional saya sangat senang dengan kabar ini. Ini suatu penantian yang panjang, ini seharusnya terjadi bertahun-tahun yang lalu," ujarnya.

Wajar saja jika Mike merasa sedih hatinya. Pasalnya selama dia merintis band ini mulai dari awal hingga dikenal oleh semua orang namun saat hal yang paling ditunggu seperti penghargaan ini dia tidak menjadi bagian dari band ini.

Meski sakit hati, namun drummer yang pernah mengisi di Avenged Sevenfold ini tak ingin kelihatan getir atau pahit menghadapi kabar ini. Mike mengaku bahwa saat masih di band dulu dia tak memperdulikan mengenai nominasi di Grammy

"Saya tidak ingin kelihatan sedih. Sebenarnya saat selama bertahun-tahun di band saya tidak pernah mempedulikan mengenai Grammy. Bagi Saya Grammy seperti guyonan bagi saya," paparnya.
